Mandan High School: Agricultural Education Teacher for 2026-2027

Agriculture Instructor

2026-2027 School year; 186 contract days, 100% FTE

Location: Mandan High School

Salary: Starting $55,550 for Bachelors degree; starting $57,072 for Master's degree.

 

Position Summary:

·              Provides instruction in the selected areas of Agricultural Education to ensure that students demonstrate appropriate mastery of standards, gain knowledge and skills essential to the industry, and are prepared for related career and post-secondary opportunities. Instruction on how to use agricultural technology, techniques, practices, and safety.  Knowledge of project-based instruction of agricultural concepts.

  • Assists with preparing student for their CTSO competitions, FFA.

  • Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, and provides progress reports to parents as needed.

  • Performs other professional job-related duties assigned by the principal.

 

Qualifications:

·              Must hold appropriate license from the ND Education Standards and Practices Board.

Grant County High School: Agricultural Education Teacher for 2025-2026

Grant County High School in Elgin, ND has a vacancy for an Agriculture Education instructor and FFA Advisor for the 2025-26 school term for a 7-12 student population of 75 students.  Grant County HS has a long history of a quality Ag Ed Program and FFA Chapter with strong community and FFA Alumni support. The position includes an extended contract for summer activities and an additional stipend for FFA advisor. 


Base Salary is $42,400 depending on experience plus extended contract salary;
Advisor pay is 5.5% of salary; 6.0% of TFFR paid; Full single health and dental insurance; 15 days sick leave; 4 days personal leave.

Powers Lake: Agricultural Education Teacher for 2025-2026

The Powers Lake School is seeking a qualified applicant for its Agricultural Education position for the 2025-2026 school year. The Powers Lake School has a long history of having a quality Ag Ed program. The community also strongly supports its FFA program and desires to have continued growth in the program. There is an additional extended contract for the summer months as well as compensation for being the FFA advisor.


Enrollment in grades 7-12 is approximately 125 students. Several grants were received this year to purchase new equipment. Mentorship is provided for 1st year teachers as well as veteran teachers. The city of Powers Lake is a small, thriving town with strong agricultural roots as well as many parents employed at jobs in the oil industry. Businesses in town include a grocery store, Country Store, Cenex, Bank, Vet Clinic, Boutique, Coffee Shop, Flower Shop and Hotel.

Agriculture Instructor - 2026-2027 School Year 
Bismarck Public Schools Career Academy - Bismarck, North Dakota 


Bismarck Public Schools is seeking an Agriculture Instructor to teach Agriculture courses at the Bismarck Career Academy. This position provides hands-on, industry-aligned instruction designed to prepare students for careers, postsecondary education, and entrepreneurship in agriculture and natural resource fields.
 
This position will start August, 14, 2026.
 
New Teacher Orientation will be held August 11th, 12th and 13th, 2026.
 
A teaching contract is 187 days.
 
External candidates are allowed to bring in up to 17 years of contracted K - 12 teaching experience.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teach Middle and High School Agriculture courses which may include:
•    Introduction to Agriculture
•    Agri Science
•    Applied Ag Mechanics
•    Botany/Horticulture
•    Small Animal Care
•    Veterinary Science
•    Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE)
Provide instruction in areas such as plant science, animal science, soils, agricultural mechanics, agribusiness, and natural resource systems.  
Deliver instruction through hands-on classroom, lab, shop, and project-based learning environments.  
Maintain a safe, organized, and instructionally effective agriculture lab/shop and greenhouse environment.  
Supervise and assess student learning through demonstrations, applied projects, and technical skill development.  
Integrate career-ready practices, employability skills, and agricultural industry standards into daily instruction.  
Support student participation in FFA and other career-connected learning opportunities.
Develop and maintain partnerships with local agriculture businesses and postsecondary programs.
Collaborate with CTE staff, counselors, and administrators to support student success.
Participate in professional development and district initiatives.
 
Instructional Environment
Courses are typically taught on a block schedule.
Instruction is primarily hands-on and lab-based with supplemental classroom instruction.
Students engage in applied agricultural learning including laboratory work, mechanical projects, plant science activities, and real-world agricultural applications.
 
Qualifications
Required
North Dakota CTE teaching license or eligibility to obtain licensure (district support available).
Background in agriculture, agribusiness, animal science, plant science, agricultural mechanics, or a related field.
Ability to work effectively with high school students in a hands-on learning environment.
Commitment to maintaining a safe instructional setting.
Licensure
North Dakota CTE teaching license preferred or ability to obtain licensure through the North Dakota Transition to Teaching Program.  Candidates without a teaching license are strongly encouraged to apply.
Bismarck Public Schools supports qualified industry professionals in transitioning into teaching through North Dakota CTE licensure pathways.
Preferred
Experience in agricultural production, agribusiness, animal care, horticulture, or agricultural mechanics.
Experience mentoring or supervising youth or young adults.
